Horse A-Z
Physically imposing sort who made the perfect start to his career when winning a bumper at Exeter (16.7f, soft) in December, despite looking as though he was very much in need of the experience. Clearly a nice prospect but Wrappedupinmay appears to be the yard's first-string.

Wide-margin winner of sole start between the flags and also came home in splendid isolation when landing an Exeter bumper (16.7f, heavy) on Rules debut. Probably didn't beat much that day but he barely broke sweat and there's almost certainly better to come.

Limited appeal on paper and probably best watched on debut.

Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Cool Sky and modest hurdler Jessica Rabbit. Dam was placed in a bumper and the market should be revealing with regard to expectations surrounding this 4-y-o on debut.

Fetched just 3,000 gns as a 3-y-o and will only be of interest starting out here if the market vibes are notably upbeat.

€22,000 3-y-o. Half-brother to fair hurdler Doyen Ta Win and out of an unraced half-sister to smart hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 2½m) Tarla. Yard boasts a decent strike rate in bumpers and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the betting.

Forecasts

Wrappedupinmay (8/13), Ten Lengths Tom (11/4), Inthewaterside (13/2), Cool Style (18/1), Good Old Sussex (80/1), Gazzah (80/1)

Verdict

Paul Nicholls saddles two highly promising types in WRAPPEDUPINMAY and Inthewaterside, both of whom were successful in bumpers at Exeter on their respective debuts under Rules. The latter possesses plenty of size and scope, and may turn out to be the better long-term prospect of the two, but Wrappedupinmay could hardly have been more impressive in winning his bumper and he is taken to follow up. Ten Lengths Tom is appealing on paper and may be the one to follow the Nicholls-trained duo home.
