Off time: 14:06 | Winning time: 4m 15.06s

Artic Row²⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: N W Alexander

Second in a point bumper but looked to be learning in bumpers and fell on his hurdling debut in a novice at Newcastle.

Form: 2-98F

Breeze Of Wind⁴²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Ross Chapman| T: F P Murtagh

28/1

Arctic Cosmos gelding. Half-brother to modest hurdler Golan Cloud. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (winner up to 21f) She's Our Native.

Form: 05233-1

Ebendi¹⁹³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: C O'Farrell| T: A Wilson| BF

22/1

Fairly useful on Flat, stays 17f, disappointing last time, subsequently sold from Joseph Patrick O'Brien £13,500. Returns from 6 months off but, while he clearly has ability, he might need this initial experience over hurdles.

Form:

Fabuleux Du Clos³⁷⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽³⁾| T: S G West| OR: 108

5/1

Just modest form at best in 4 bumpers, but showed plenty to work on switched to hurdling after 11 months off when runner-up at Carlisle 3 weeks ago, left with too much to do. Should improve.

Form: 3553/23-

Gallant Flame¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: William Shanahan⁽⁷⁾| T: A B Hamilton

250/1

No form in a bumper and 2 maiden hurdles for Mags Mullins in Ireland last summer and lost his action at Ayr on debut for this stable. Easily dismissed.

Form: 0PPP

Galunggung⁵⁹⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr

11/4

Khalkevi gelding. Dam maiden over hurdles in France. Dead-heated for first sole start in Irish points (May 2021). One to note on Rules debut.

Form: 1-

Highlander Hill²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: T Scudamore| T: Paul Robson

66/1

Mahler gelding who showed only a bit in Carlisle bumper on debut and was down the field on his hurdling bow at Ayr 24 days ago.

Form: 50

Puddledub I Froget^t1²⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Edward Austin⁽⁵⁾| T: H Graham & G Rutherford

250/1

Pulled up in novice hurdle (150/1) at Newcastle (20.3f, soft) on NH debut 20 days ago and makes no appeal in this.

Form: P

Serious Mickey¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N G Richards

125/1

Took 5 attempts to get off the mark in Irish points and hasn't offered a great deal in two hurdling outings to date. Others preferred.

Form: PP61-89

Thistlebuffs

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: D R Fox| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell

9/1

Fame And Glory gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Millen To One, stays 2¾m. Interesting newcomer who is worth monitoring in the betting.

Form:

Traprain Law^t¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: P W Wadge⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 114| BF| CD

10/11

Bounced back to his best when making all in 8-runner handicap hurdle over C&D in December. Respectable second here since and likely to be on the premises again.

Form: 3P-2412

Pipers Cross¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: Thomas Willmott⁽³⁾| T: Miss S E Forster| CD

50/1

Landed a weak C&D bumper in early May and looked too slow for this trip in a novice over C&D 17 days ago. Others make more appeal.

Form: 76-164

Non-Runners

Bray Dale¹¹⁵

Weight: 11-0| Age: 6

T: C Bissett J: Bruce Lynn

Couldntgivamonkeys⁴²

Weight: 11-0| Age: 5

Forecasts

Traprain Law (10/11), Galunggung (11/4), Fabuleux Du Clos (5/1), Thistlebuffs (9/1), Ebendi (22/1), Breeze Of Wind (28/1), Bray Dale (33/1), Artic Row (50/1), Pipers Cross (50/1), Highlander Hill (66/1), Serious Mickey (125/1), Couldntgivamonkeys (150/1), Gallant Flame (250/1), Puddledub I Froget (250/1)

TRAPRAIN LAW won a handicap over C&D easily on his penultimate start and was far from disgraced in a novice here subsequently, so he's a solid option in his bid to resume winning ways. Point recruit Galunggung is a clear danger and Fabuleux du Clos has claims if he's tuned up after another lengthy absence.
