Improved to open his account in 12-runner handicap hurdle (10/3) at Chepstow (23.6f, good) 35 days ago, suited by increase in trip. Nudged up 6 lb but may still have more to offer, particularly at this trip.
Completed superb 5-timer over hurdles in 2020/21. Also made a successful start over fences on his reappearance last term but it's been all downhill since, again finding little when pulling up for a fourth start in a row at Carlisle 41 days ago.
Sketchy jumper who proved better than ever to make his second start for his new yard a winning one in 8-runner handicap hurdle (10/3) at Haydock (24.3f, good to soft) 38 days ago, asserting ruin-in and going clear from a subsequent winner. Hit with 8lb rise but should remain competitive.
Ex-Irish hurdler/chaser who won the first 2 of his 3 for Fergal O'Brien in the summer but jumped none too fluently when below form at Bangor on final outing and has since left that yard.
Progressive over fences, bringing up a Carlisle staying handicap hat-trick after 8 months off in October. Came up short in a higher grade at Haydock last time and now reverts to the smaller obstacles.
Dual winner at up 23.3f this term who ran creditably back in a handicap when third at Wetherby (21.2f) on Boxing Day. Step back up in trip looks a good move and should be competitive again. Hood on for 1st time.
Winner on debut and Ayr and has shaped well both handicap starts since returning from 13 months off, including when third at aforementioned venue (20.4f) last time, staying on well. Will be suited by this longer trip and remains open to improvement.
Fair hurdle who wasn't disgraced back under more testing conditions when in 10-runner handicap at Kelso (25.8f, soft) 44 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time.

Forecasts
Gentleman De Mai (5/2), Top Of The Bill (11/4), Theme Tune (9/2), Tiger Jet (9/2), Gentleman Valley (5/1), Tough Out (8/1), Houston Texas (12/1), Mighty Thunder (20/1), Bushypark (50/1), Imperial Sachin's (50/1)
GENTLEMAN DE MAI promises to be well suited by this longer trip judged on his staying-on third at Ayr towards the end of November and, with that form proving solid, he makes plenty of appeal. Top of The Bill and Tiger Jet are a couple of credible rivals.
