Legendary Day^t⁴⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: W T Kennedy| T: A Keatley

10/3

Dual Flat winner for Hughie Morrison and perfect start over hurdles for new yard in a first-time tongue strap (retained here) at Sedgefield (16.8f, soft) where he landed an 11-runner novice with a bit to spare. Player with prospect of more to come.

Matchless³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: G Sheehan| T: J Candlish| OR: 114| BF| D

11/8

Fairly useful Flat performer who scored on hurdles bow at Newcastle (16.2f) in November prior to a sound second under a penalty at Doncaster. Too free sent handicapping at latter-named venue since but he remains one to be positive about.

Form: 126

Prospect House⁴³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-1| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: P D Niven

33/1

Offered little in bumper/maiden hurdle in Ireland last summer and similarly made little impact in points more recently. Starts out for new yard now.

Form: 7P4P

Whitehaven⁷⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: Theo Gillard⁽³⁾| T: D McCain Jnr| BF| D

2/1

Fairly useful on Flat for Hughie Morrison (stays 16.5f). Creditable second at Haydock (2m) when last seen in October and he's well worth a look now hurdling having changed hands for 35,000 gns subsequently.

Form:

Fiftyshadesaresdev^p⁴⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: Miss Becky Smith| T: Micky Hammond

10/1

Fair maiden on the Flat who ran to a modest level when a fading fourth in a C&D juvenile 44 days ago. Possible he will have stamina limitations in this sphere.

Form: U4

Red Command³⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: Ross Chapman| T: Miss Tracy Waggott| OR: 92

50/1

Poor maiden on Flat and he hasn't offered a great deal on 2 of his 3 starts in this sphere. Passed over.

Form: P45

Forecasts

Matchless (11/8), Whitehaven (2/1), Legendary Day (10/3), Fiftyshadesaresdev (10/1), Prospect House (33/1), Red Command (50/1)

LEGENDARY DAY looks a shrewd purchase judged on his hurdling debut success at Sedgefield back in November and, with progress anticipated, he gets the nod to defy a penalty and come out on top again. Matchless was too free at Doncaster last time but is a player on his previous efforts. Whitehaven, an interesting recruit from the Flat, is also worth a look.
