In Memory Of June Taylor Handicap Hurdle

Fontwell novice hurdle winner in autumn 2021. Not disgraced in a couple of handicaps since returning to action but his mark continues to look a little on the high side.

Fairly useful form over hurdles, winning in France in summer 2021. Runner-up twice for top new yard in juvenile/novice company last winter and interesting now handicapping on his return to action. Has had wind surgery.

Finally off the mark in maiden hurdle at Wexford in June. Well held on chase debut at Limerick next time (final start for Henry de Bromhead) but made a good start for Kerry Lee when close second in C&D handicap 7 weeks ago, pulling clear with a next-time-out Cheltenham winner. Player.

Looked a horse to follow this time last year. Bit underwhelming since and, though running creditably, he did make rather heavy weather of it when fourth of 6 at Sandown (2m) in first-time cheekpieces (retained) 4 weeks ago. Back up in trip.

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who ended last term with success in handicap chase at Catterick (19f). Creditable second in 2m Taunton novice hurdle on reappearance 5 weeks ago. Steps back up in trip now.

Built on a promising hurdle debut second when going one better at Lingfield (19f) last month, still green but battling well after a last-flight mistake. Hard to argue his opening mark looks generous but he should have more to offer.

Runner-up sole start in Irish points and subsequently awarded the race after being touched off on Rules debut in 19f Warwick novice in November 2021. Not seen since but retains plenty of potential for his top stable. Very interesting to see how he goes in the betting.

Veteran who was still capable of fairly useful form over fences around 3m for Nicky Henderson last season. Whether he still has the pace to be competitive over this shorter trip back hurdling on his reappearance for a new yard remains to be seen.

Has landed 5 wins since joining this yard, including over C&D. Given a short break since a respectable fourth at Kelso in September. Likely to be in the mix for leading trainer/jockey combination.

Easy winner of a 2m course maiden hurdle last December. Creditable third of 9 on handicap debut/return at Wetherby (2m, good) 49 days ago. Claims if building on that now stepping up in trip.

Progressive form in 2020, scoring in handicap company at Kelso when last seen. Hard to know how much ability remains and watching brief has to be the percentage call.
