Off time: 15:31 | Winning time: 3m 57.50s

Coniston George

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N G Richards

12/1

€31,000 3-y-o, Flemensfirth gelding. Dam, 5f/6f winner, sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Violet Dancer. One to note on debut for a stable that does well in this sphere.

Form:

Forcing Bull⁶²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr

6/1

£50,000 5-y-o, Papal Bull gelding. Dam, ran once on Flat abroad, half-sister to smart hurdler/chaser (2m-2½m winner) Farclas. Comfortably off mark in Irish points at sixth attempt (Oct 29). Strong claims.

Form: P3P-331

Jack Sprat⁴⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden

4/1

Out of a winning hurdler and showed something to work on when fourth both starts to date. Might strip fitter for latest outing, so not discounted.

Form: 4-4

Kallow Point²⁵⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams

9/4

Soldier of Fortune gelding. Dam unraced, closely related to fair hurdler/fairly useful chase winner (stays 2½m) Cornerkova. Runner-up in pair of point bumpers in spring and seems likely to make his presence felt.

Form: 22-

Magical Arthur

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Joe Williamson⁽⁵⁾| T: P A Kirby

28/1

Yeats gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler Fin And Game, stays 19f, and bumper winner Nell's Bells. Makes some appeal on pedigree, so warrants a check in the betting.

Form:

Pippin Took

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

8/1

Conduit gelding. Dam unraced. One to take seriously on debut, particularly if the market speaks in his favour.

Form:

Pyffo³¹

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Mr Anthony O'Neill⁽⁷⁾| T: J & A O'Neill| BF

4/1

Half-brother to 3 winners and solid start when runner-up at Southwell a month ago. Open to improvement with the benefit of that initial experience, so should go well.

Form: 2

You Some Girl⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Sean Quinlan| T: R Menzies| D

12/1

Bred to be suited by further but made a successful start at Catterick last month and merits respect under a penalty.

Form: 1

Jims Apple^h1³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-9| J: Edward Austin⁽⁵⁾| T: J Ewart

125/1

Runner-up a couple of times in points but didn't offer much when last in a bumper at Ayr on debut, so others are preferable.

Form: 5F/224-7

Forecasts

Kallow Point (9/4), Pyffo (4/1), Jack Sprat (4/1), Forcing Bull (6/1), Pippin Took (8/1), Coniston George (12/1), You Some Girl (12/1), Magical Arthur (28/1), Jims Apple (125/1)

FORCING BULL was comfortably off the mark in points at the sixth attempt and, with that experience to call upon, he might be worth chancing on Rules debut. Pyffo is an obvious danger on the back of a solid start at Southwell and You Some Girl is respected under a penalty for her debut success at Catterick.
