Missed all of 2019 and 2020 but proved he still has something to offer with back-to-back selling/claiming victories at Leicester last winter. Off since March and mark looks high enough back in a handicap. Has had a wind op.

Fairly promising as a novice in 2021 but off 16 months and little promise both starts in handicaps this term. In good hands but has a lot to prove with cheekpieces fitted.

Largely creditable efforts either side of juvenile victory at Stratford in July 2019. Improved model on the Flat the following summer but went with no encouragement on November's return from 27 months off.

Placed twice in selling company at Taunton in recent weeks and made that fitness count when successful on the level at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago, responding well to an attacking ride. Clearly fit and in form.

Expensive to follow, runner-up 3 times for Dr Richard Newland in the first half of 2021. Almost certainly needed last month's return from a lengthy absence but others still much more convincing.

Maiden and lightly raced in recent times. Brought down early at Southwell last month and this will reveal more.

Fairly useful maiden on the Flat in Ireland. Yet to show that form in 4 attempts over hurdles, pulled up at Worcester (20f) in June. Cheekpieces go on for first time now with lots more needed.

Ended long losing run over hurdles at Bangor in July. Failed to match that level over fences since and also well held on the AW last time. Assessor given him a chance returned to timber.

Let down by jumping on the whole over fences but down a long way in the weights back hurdling, which makes him of serious interest.

Forecasts

True Romance (3/1), Captain Jack (5/1), Long Call (6/1), Lucky Robin (7/1), Gregor (15/2), Weebill (8/1), Right Turn (10/1), Emma Lamb (14/1), What Will Be (16/1)

Verdict

Most of these have lots to prove but LUCKY ROBIN and Long Call could be the pair to focus on from reduced marks back hurdling, with marginal preference for Brian Ellison's veteran. Of the rest, Gregor represents a top yard and cheekpieces may spark him into life.
