Doocey Group Novices' Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Prolific in handicap hurdles in 2020-21, winning 5 times and shaped well after 10 months off in Hereford handicap in October. Faced a stiff task on chase debut at Huntingdon since but was somewhat disappointing nonetheless.

Dual novice hurdle winner (at around 2m) last winter who was pulled up on 2 of his 3 starts in handicaps after, quickish ground possibly against him at Fontwell in March. May have needed last month's return and worth a check in the market on chase debut.

Built on promising hurdling bow when easily taking 14-runner novice at Chepstow (16f, good, 9/4) in April. Looks sure to progress and holds obvious claims on switch to chasing.

Went backwards for Olly Murphy after scoring over hurdles in 2020 and no signs of revival for new yard at Southwell last month, finishing well-beaten third of 5 in handicap chase (15.8f, good). Tongue strap on first time/cheekpieces back on.

Fair maiden hurdler for Alan King but has lost his form, well beaten in 4 runs over fences for current trainer this season. 1 lb out of the handicap.
