Forward Plan^t³²

Age: 6| Weight: 12-1| J: Ben Godfrey⁽³⁾| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 111| C

9/4

Improver in handicap hurdles, landing staying event on return here 32 days ago, beating a next-time-out winner. Switches to chasing (point winner) and can go well if coping with the markedly shorter trip.

Harlem Soul⁵^{(ex 7)}

Age: 4| Weight: 11-9| J: Gearoid Harney⁽⁷⁾| T: S Hosie| OR: 106

4/1

Returned to form from out of the blue sent chasing and was pretty impressive to boot as he easily won amateurs' handicap over this trip at Wincanton on Thursday, cruising clear in the straight. Obvious claims if in the same sort of form under a penalty.

Form: UU6061

An Marcach^b¹²

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Charlie Hammond| T: Dr R D P Newland| OR: 94

11/1

A while since his only win (in Clonmel handicap chase in March 2021). Jumped better than is often the case at Lingfield a fortnight ago but finished well held. Others preferred.

Form: 5-325F3

Hipop Des Ongrais²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: D A Jacob| T: R Walford| OR: 94

9/4

Landed a gamble on handicap hurdle debut in January at Uttoxeter over this trip. Appeals as very much the type to make a better chaser and should have come on plenty for his first run in 8 months at Lingfield 4 weeks ago (jumped okay in the main). One to consider.

Form: 80815-7

En Coeur^t³⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 10-7| J: M G Nolan| T: J W Mullins| OR: 89| BF

13/2

Good record at Plumpton and back to form when held in second there last time. This is tougher.

Form: 233-422

Master Blaze^p,t¹²

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: Philip Armson⁽³⁾| T: D Pipe| OR: 87

14/1

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser in France but well held all starts for this yard over the last year, including back over fences the last twice. Hard to fancy.

Form: 96-4755

Forecasts

Hipop Des Ongrais (9/4), Forward Plan (9/4), Harlem Soul (4/1), En Coeur (13/2), An Marcach (11/1), Master Blaze (14/1)

HIPOP DES ONGRAIS remains with plenty of potential over fences and should have come on a ton from his Lingfield return 4 weeks ago, so he's chanced over Thursday's impressive Wincanton-winner Harlem Soul. Forward Plan struck over hurdles a month ago and should do just as well chasing, but may find this trip on the sharp side.
