Progressive young staying chaser who scored with plenty in hand in novice handicap at Ffos Las (23.8f) when last seen in March. Open to plenty more improvement and his claims are crystal clear in an ordinary-looking race for the grade.

Nowhere near the force of old (former National Hunt Chase winner) but has made the most of a couple of good opportunities this year, including on return at Huntingdon (23.6f). Will find life tougher here but, on the plus side, his yard continues in fine form.

Not one to rely on as a rule but proved he retains plenty of ability last season, winning 2 extended 3m military amateur rider events over C&D. Let down by his jumping at Worcester when last seen in May but could bounce back on his return, especially with his yard going well.

Ended a long losing run when springing a 40/1 surprise in the Badger Beers at Wincanton last season. Completely lost his form thereafter and ran poorly in latest renewal of that corresponding event on his reappearance. Lots to prove.

Former Bet365 Gold Cup winner at this venue. Is well into the veteran stage of his career now but he wasn't disgraced when fourth in last season's renewal of that corresponding race when last seen in April. Blinkers worn then replaced by regular cheekpieces. Record fresh a bit off-putting, though.

Enjoyed a productive 2021/22 campaign, gaining his third win and his first away from Plumpton in 3 seasons at Fontwell (26f) in April. Has yet to fully fire this term, however, and his yard remains quiet.

Forecasts

Valsheda (5/6), Step Back (7/2), Le Breuil (9/2), Rolling Dylan (12/1), I See You Well (18/1), Rocco (18/1)

Verdict

It's hard to get away from VALSHEDA, a progressive young chaser, who makes his seasonal return in what looks a very winnable race. Rolling Dylan and Step Back both have good records at this track and can perhaps give the selection most to do, especially the former, who reappears with his yard amongst the winners.
