Ocovango gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including bumper winner/useful hurdler Ulzana's Raid. Runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points and showed plenty on his Rules debut when a staying-on third in Hexham maiden (20.1f) 53 days ago. Longer trip promises to suit, so solid contender.

£30,000 6-y-o, Ocovango gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler/chaser Cheap As Chips and fairly useful hurdler/chaser Ros Brin, stays 3m. Dam unraced. Won sole start in points in February and worth a market check on Rules debut.
|
Won sole start in Irish points and offered something to work on sent hurdling in a messy affair when third in 7-runner novice at Kelso (22.7f) 25 days ago, staying on run-in. Likely to improve.
|
Looked rough around the edges when showing ability in a brace of bumpers in May and was yet to be asked for his effort when falling at the seventh on his Worcester hurdling debut in October.
|
Useful on Flat, stays 16.5f, mid-division in handicap last time. Interesting recruit to hurdling and one to watch closely in the betting.

Forecasts
No But I Will (9/4), Inis Oirr (11/4), Merveillo (3/1), Mr Vango (9/2), Powder Trick (16/1)
INIS OIRR shaped well on his Rules debut at Hexham last month, especially with a view to tackling a longer trip, so he receives the vote. Merveillo, a useful stayer on the Flat, requires a close look in the betting on his hurdling debut, while No But I Will seems likely to improve on his opening third under Rules at Kelso.
