Steadily progressive hurdler (course winner) who stepped up further switched to chasing last term, successful at Carlisle prior to posting career-best display to score at Haydock (28.4f) in March. Versatile as regards trip/ground and likely there's more to come this term. Had wind op.

Low-mileage 8-y-o who doubled chase tally at Haydock (21.6f) last December and career-best when just touched off at Newbury (22.4f) in April. Shaped as if needing his hurdles return here (23f) 17 days ago and entitled to be sharper returned to larger obstacles now.

Devon National winner in 2021 but not so reliable subsequently, pulled up in this year's renewal of aforementioned race in February. Possible he'll come on for this first start for 9 months.

Ended losing run stretching back 2 years in hunter chase company at Southwell (3m) in March. Disappointed next time but better display when fourth over 3m back from 6 months off at Ayr (3m, soft) 17 days ago and eased 3 lb since if building on that.

Improved from a low base in handicap hurdles, gaining third success at Haydock (24.2f, heavy) in February. Badly hampered first and ultimately never figured on return/chase bow at Hereford 11 days ago but jumping will need to improve here.

Ex-French recruit who sprung a surprise on British debut in 3m handicap chase at Market Rasen in January 2021. Record has been mixed since, well backed but in trouble some way out at Leicester (22.7f) in February. Cheekpieces/tongue tie fitted on return.

£215,000 purchase from points who reached a fairly useful level over hurdles, ending time with Evan Williams with good second at Wetherby (21.2f) in March. Changed hands again for £30,000 in May and betting should guide now tackling larger obstacles. Cheekpieces/tongue tie fitted.

5-y-o who has proved consistent over hurdles, without looking straightforward, hanging/flashing tail under pressure in (first-time visor) when third on return at Worcester in October. Cheekpieces the headgear of choice making chase debut.

Maiden hurdle winner (at 21f) who showed aptitude for chasing on return/following a wind op when second in 3-runner Fontwell handicap (21.6f) last month. Type to improve and this greater emphasis on stamina promises to suit.

Dan Skelton's Jeffery's Cross also makes appeal on just his second chase try, ahead of Dieu Vivant. Only The Bold needs monitoring in the betting on return/chase debut for his new yard.
