Lydford Lad²⁵⁹

7/4

Landed a novice hurdle here (20f) for Jack Barber 12 months ago and ran to similar level when fifth on handicap debut at Chepstow in January. Below that level final 2 starts but been given a chance by the handicapper and must enter calculations on chasing bow for new yard.

Doyen La Lutte^p²³²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-11| J: David Noonan| T: D Pipe| OR: 102WS

14/1

Winning pointer who made the frame on several occasions over timber last term and must be taken seriously on chase debut here. Had wind operation.

Form: 490274-

Pageant Material³⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 93| C

18/1

Left previous form behind to land 2m mares' novice hurdle here at the start of the year. Disappointing both starts since, though, and has something to prove on switch to chasing.

Form: 74410-P

Haldon Hill^h,t¹⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 11-1| J: R P McLernon| T: V R A Dartnall| OR: 92

4/1

Sole success came in bumper back in 2018 but got back on track when fifth of 10 in handicap chase (10/1) at Lingfield (20f, good to soft) on return 17 days ago. Player if able to build on that.

Form: 76/3UP-5

Bert Wilson^p,t²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-11| J: Tom Buckley⁽³⁾| T: N J Hawke| OR: 88

7/1

Not the most consistent but returned with respectable fourth of 11 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Worcester (16f, heavy) 29 days ago. Tries chasing now but overall profile is rather off-putting.

Form: 684PP-4

Twilight Glory⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-10| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 87| BF

9/2

In the frame in both appearances in points and shaped as if better for the run when sixth of 9 in handicap chase at Sedgefield (21.1f, good to soft) on debut over fences 40 days ago. Respected.

Form: 42446-6

Dunbar^h,t¹⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-8| J: Ben Jones| T: D A Rees| OR: 85| C

6/1

Course winner (16f) in April and ran to similar level when third of 11 in handicap chase over same C&D earlier this month. Ought to be in the mix again.

Forecasts

Lydford Lad (7/4), Haldon Hill (4/1), Twilight Glory (9/2), Dunbar (6/1), Bert Wilson (7/1), Doyen La Lutte (14/1), Pageant Material (18/1)

Winning-pointer DOYEN LA LUTTE could be well treated on her chase debut and gets the nod. Twilight Glory and Lydford Lad are also respected in a tricky-looking contest.
