2/5

Brother to top-class Douvan and made up into a smart novice hurdler last term, going 4-5 with success in Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree in April. Very much the sort to do even better over fences. Most exciting prospect.

Smart hurdler who signed off for last term with a good second in Aintree Hurdle (20f) in April. Much respected now making his chase debut.

West Cork^t¹⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 142| D

11/1

Very useful 2m winner over hurdles. 15/8, shaped encouragingly when second of 4 in 2m4f novice chase here on his debut over fences 15 days ago. Can build on that but this is no easy ask.

Form: 1542-F2

Forecasts

Jonbon (2/5), Monmiral (11/4), West Cork (11/1)

Only three runners but a fascinating contest in which JONBON makes his eagerly awaited chasing debut after an excellent first season over hurdles when only stable companion Constitution Hill lowered his colours in five starts. Smart hurdler Monmiral also has his first go over fences for Paul Nicholls and can chase home Nicky Henderson's top-class prospect ahead of West Cork.
