Dam half-sister to smart hurdler (winner around 2m) Cinders And Ashes. Fair maiden on the Flat for William Haggas and showed an aptitude for hurdling after 4 months off when second in 8-runner event at Ludlow (15.8f) last week. Solid claims.

The Anvil gelding. Dam, 11.2f winner on Flat in France, half-sister to very smart hurdler/smart chaser in France (stayed 2½m) Master Dino and fairly useful 17f/2¼m hurdle winner in France Mind Glory. Makes some appeal on paper and would enter the reckoning if the markert speaks in his favour.

Fairly useful Flat winner in Ireland for Jim Bolger and left hurdling debut form behind when 7½ lengths third of 5 to Tuddenham Green at Chepstow (2m, good to firm) 34 days ago. Open to further improvement.

Finished fifth of 10 in maiden bumper at Moulins (11.9f) in April. Upped in trip for hurdle/stable debut and worth a market check.

Fair maiden on Flat, down the field in handicaps last 2 starts. Has been gelded subsequently and is in the right hands to make it as a hurdler.

Fair form on Flat, down the field in handicap on stable debut last time. Others a bit more persuasive on hurdle debut.

Forecasts

I Have A Voice (13/8), Tying The Knot (3/1), Balgowan (10/3), Chief Hopper (11/2), Jukebox D'eddy (18/1), French Romance (50/1)

Verdict

I HAVE A VOICE wasn't beaten far in a 5-runner contest at Chepstow last month and that form has been boosted by the front pair since, so he receives the vote with further progress on the cards. Balgowan is an obvious threat following a good second on his hurdling debut at Ludlow last week, while Tying The Knot is the pick of the newcomers before market clues.
