Off time: 14:00 | Winning time: 5m 19.20s

Allo Allo²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: C Gethings| T: S Edmunds

7/1

Point winner who left previous Rules form well behind when making a successful start for this yard in a 5-runner Fakenham maiden (2½m, good) last month. Much more on his plate under a penalty here.

Form: 21P2-51

Ajp Kingdom⁴⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: C Brace| T: F O'Brien

17/2

Showed ability in points and accounted for 7 rivals on Rules debut in a Bangor bumper (16.7f, good) in September. That form is nothing to get excited about but he should have a future over jumps.

Form: 25-1

Arctic Lodge²⁴⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: D J Jeffreys

125/1

Runner-up on sole completed point start but there were no positives to glean from his hurdles debut display at Huntingdon in March.

Form: P/2P-

Horn Cape³¹³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Aidan Coleman| T: N J Henderson

14/1

Ex-French bumper winner who hinted at promise when sixth of 13 on his second run in this sphere at Newbury (16.3f, soft) last December. Couldn't be in better hands and likely capable of a good deal better.

Form: 617/P6-

Twig¹⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Beau Morgan⁽⁷⁾| T: B Pauling| OR: 132

1/4

Multiple winning pointer who landed a pair of hunter chases for Matthew Hampton during the spring. Winner over fences at Warwick last month and subsequent hurdles debut second in a Cheltenham novice (3m, good to soft) is the best form on offer here by a long way.

Form: 11-1212

Solid Fuel²²

Age: 4| Weight: 10-13| J: James Best| T: Joanne Thomason-Murphy

200/1

Fair form when second in a Huntingdon bumper in May but has failed to back that up in 3 subsequent starts, including on C&D hurdles debut last month.

Form: 4-2673

Forecasts

Twig (1/4), Allo Allo (7/1), Ajp Kingdom (17/2), Horn Cape (14/1), Arctic Lodge (125/1), Solid Fuel (200/1)

This is best left to TWIG, who at least matched the useful level of form he has shown over fences when a clear second in a Cheltenham novice on his recent debut in this sphere. This drop in trip is unlikely to pose a problem and a mere reproduction of that effort would make him very hard to beat. Horn Cape gets the nod ahead of Ajp Kingdom for forecast purposes.
