Gunsight Ridge^t²¹²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 133| BF| DWS

9/4

Consistent hurdler who confirmed initial chase promise when off the mark at Sandown (15.5f) in January. Excuses when pulled up in Grade 3 over C&D back in April (lost shoe and suffered wounded leg) but remains low-mileage and has had a wind op prior to this return.

Sao^h,t¹⁵⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-9| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: R Menzies| OR: 130| D

5/1

Three-time winner in 2020/21. Not managed to get his head in front since but took a big step back in the right direction from his falling mark when third at Cartmel back in May. Should get a decent pace to aim at so not dismissed.

Form: 24B4-33

Sir Tivo^t³⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 11-5| J: R T Dunne| T: G Hanmer| OR: 126| D

8/1

Fairly useful chaser who added to his tally at Stratford in June and made the most of a good opportunity kept to hurdling when making all at Warwick last month. Back over the larger obstacles today and operating from just 1 lb above his last winning mark, he may feature.

Miss Amelia¹¹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-4| J: Tom Midgley⁽⁵⁾| T: M Walford| OR: 125| D

18/1

Going through a good spell since teaming up with this conditional, scoring at Carlisle in April before resuming winning ways in typically likeable fashion at Perth back in the summer. Career-high mark to defy today but that's not out of the question.

Form: 431-231

Galop De Chasse²⁴²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-3| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 124| BF| D

7/2

Winning hurdler in France who doubled his tally over fences at Ludlow in February. Another creditable performance when runner-up at Sandown back in March but others make more appeal at this sort of trip (lacks a turn of foot).

Form: 1P2132-

Only Money¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: J E Moore| T: C Gordon| OR: 123| D

11/4

Took his chase strike-rate to an impressive 4-8 when taking a 7-runner contest at Worcester last month, slightly flattered by the 10-length winning margin (runner-up hit the last). 8 lb higher today and another bold showing anticipated in his hat-trick bid.

Form: 4213-11

Forecasts

Gunsight Ridge (9/4), Only Money (11/4), Galop De Chasse (7/2), Sao (5/1), Sir Tivo (8/1), Miss Amelia (18/1)

A tricky contest to unravel despite the small field but ONLY MONEY continues to go from strength to strength over fences so he gets the verdict to defy an 8 lb rise in the weights and take his record to 5-9 in this sphere. Gunsight Ridge had excuses for his below-par effort when last seen over C&D in the spring so he's put forward as the main danger returning having had a breathing operation, with Sao rounding off the shortlist.
