Out of a winning hurdler (bred to stay well) and promise when second in 5-runner Newton Abbot bumper (16.7f) in September. Again shaped like a stayer when midfield at Chepstow (2m) 25 days ago and likely his future will be over further in this sphere.

Waldpark gelding. Third only start in points and promising start in bumpers, building on his Huntingdon debut display when third of 9 at Southwell (15.8f) in April. Very much the type to have a future in this sphere.

£40,000 5-y-o, Presenting gelding. Second of 2 finishers on second of 2 starts in Irish points back in 2021 and possible he needed his hurdles debut effort at Uttoxeter (20f) in June. This ought to reveal more.

£62,000 4-y-o: second foal: dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 21f) Princelet. Runner-up only start in Irish points (Oct 2021) and he's an interesting Rules/hurdles debutant for good yard. Market should guide.

€28,000 3-y-o, Califet gelding. Brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chase winner Timberman. Dam (h103) 2¾m hurdle winner (stayed 3m). Betting should guide on racecourse bow.

5-y-o who has showed definite signs of ability both starts in bumpers 15 months apart, latterly when third of 6 on yard debut at Worcester (2m) back in June. Returns with yard amongst the winners and interesting what the betting makes of him.

Out of a winning hurdler and he stepped up on his bumper debut effort when fifth in a 9-runner contest at Warwick (2m) in February, despite pulling hard. Still, feasible to think he will be one for later on in this sphere.

Off mark in Irish points at fourth attempt but well held in novice hurdle at Kelso (16.2f, good to soft) on Rules debut 11 days ago.

Second of 8 in bumper at Senonnes-Pouance (14.9f) on debut last October. Left F. Foucher for €62,000 following month and open to improvement now jumping for new stable.

£160,000 4-y-o, Shirocco gelding. Half-brother to smart hurdler/chaser Bright New Dawn, stayed 3m, and useful bumper winner/useful 2m hurdle winner Lyrical Theatre. Won only start in Irish points (Feb 6). Interesting newcomer.

Blue Bresil gelding who was strong in betting and impressed as he made a winning bumper debut at Huntingdon (15.8f) back in March, running a little green but still forging clear. Exciting prospect now sights are set on hurdling.

Soldier of Fortune gelding who looked well above-average when running out a clear-cut winner of a Taunton bumper on debut back in March. Almost refused and unseated first on return/hurdles bow at Bangor 8 days ago, so interesting to see which way he goes.

Falco gelding. Winning pointer and bright start under Rules, building on his FFos Las second in February when running out a good winner at Wincanton (15.2f) in March. Has all the makings of a useful novice hurdler and he's high on the shortlist.

Fair form on each of his 4 starts in bumpers but dropped out of things quickly on hurdles bow at Aintree (20f) back in May. Will need to leave that in his wake if he's to feature here.

Offered little both starts in bumpers earlier this year and hard to recommend now sights are set on hurdling.

Verdict

TAHMURAS made a very bright start in bumpers last term, confirming the promise of his Ffos Las debut second when going one place better at Wincanton in March and, every inch the type to make his mark over hurdles, he earns the vote to make it first time lucky in this sphere. That said, similar comments apply to Pembroke and he's a lead threat, ahead of expensive point recruit Out of Office. Sergeant Wilson is also of interest if proving his latest Bangor display a blip.
