Fairly useful maiden on Flat, barely stays 1½m (free-going sort) who again pulled hard but it didn't stop him making a winning hurdles debut at Kempton a fortnight ago, driven out to see off Age of Sail. Capable of better, particularly if he does learn to settle down.

Fairly useful form over hurdles, improved to win 12-runner claimer at Auteuil last time by 15 lengths from French Exit. Well held on completed start over fences, though in front (had been left clear at previous fence) when falling 2 out in 5-runner 3-y-o event prior to that. Joined top yard.

Fairly useful maiden on the Flat at up to 1½m, fifth of 14 in a Newbury handicap on final start for Joseph Parr last month. Runner-up both starts, improving on opening run when chasing home Admiralty House at Kempton a fortnight ago. Visor on.

Modest form in 3 outings on the Flat and didn't achieve a great deal on opening hurdles outing at Fontwell.

Fair on Flat (stays 1¼m), won twice in 2022 for Clive Cox, good second last time. Makes hurdles debut for top yard so demands respect.

Forecasts

Fils De Roi (2/1), Admiralty House (5/2), Age Of Sail (5/2), Midnight Train (9/2), Briar Bank (100/1)

Verdict

Having got off the mark in a French claimer a month ago, FILS DE ROI has transferred to a powerful British yard so he could be the way to go. Admiralty House and Age of Sail finished first and second at Kempton recently and there shouldn't be much between them again, while Midnight Train deserves a mention on hurdles bow given the stable he represents.
