Wolferton 'National Hunt' Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Midnightreferendum but showed nothing in a pair of bumpers late last year.

Schiaparelli gelding who showed fairly useful form in winning both bumper starts last season. Good claims if transferring that form over to hurdles.

Offered something to work when sixth in a big-field maiden at Navan in February but well below that level twice since. Sold out of Stuart Crawford's yard for £18,000 in May. Needs to get back on track.

Hinted at ability in bumpers but a big step forward required now hurdling.

Attracted support but offered little in a Huntingdon bumper on debut 9 months ago, dropping away over 4f out.

Fairly promising in bumpers and was given a most considerate introduction to hurdling when fourth in small-field Kempton novice (2m) in May. Can do better.

Improved on debut form when second in French bumper in November. Changed hands for €90,000 later that month but went backwards from a mildly encouraging hurdling/yard debut when a remote third at Kempton in March. Possibly more one for handicaps after this.

Sir Percy gelding from a good family and showed encouraging signs in bumpers. Ran a satisfactory race when third on his Compiegne hurdling debut (17.9f) and can be expected to improve.

Much improved when third in juvenile at Auteuil for A. Chaille-Chaille last October and changed hands for €145,000 after. Run best excused in Fred Winter at Cheltenham next time and much respected back in calmer waters for in-form yard on return.
