10/11

Promising type. 2/11, won 4-runner maiden at Epsom (8.5f, good to firm) 51 days ago, well on top finish. More on his plate here under a penalty but he remains open to improvement.

Wan'em¹³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-11| J: Sam Feilden⁽⁷⁾| T: K R Burke| OR: 79

6/1

Winner at Catterick in July. 12/1, eleventh of 12 in minor event at York (7f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Sights lowered here and this stiffer test promises to suit, so there is cause for optimism.

Form: 1320

(6)

Dragonball Prince¹⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Cieren Fallon| T: H Palmer

15/8

Twice-raced maiden. Third of 9 in minor event at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy, 7/1) 15 days ago. The pair that finished in front of him could be pretty useful and leading claims provided he takes to this surface.

Form: 53

(1)

House Of Dragons²⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: David Probert| T: D J S Ffrench Davis

40/1

Twice-raced maiden. Third of 5 in maiden (18/1) at Ffos Las (7.4f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Probably more one for handicaps in due course.

Form: 53

(3)

Raintown¹⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Georgia Dobie⁽³⁾| T: J S Moore

100/1

Once-raced maiden. 80/1, seventh of 10 in maiden at this course (7.2f) on debut 10 days ago. Up in trip and big step forward is needed.

Form: 7

(2)

Wong Kei⁵²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: A J Farragher⁽⁵⁾| T: Miss A Murphy

28/1

Once-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in minor event at Chepstow (7.1f, good to firm, 22/1) on debut 52 days ago. Hard to warm to.

Form: 5

(5)

Royal Athena¹⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 8-13| J: Tom Marquand| T: T Ward| OR: 65

18/1

Thrice-raced maiden. 18/1, last of 10 in maiden at Brighton (7f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Back up in trip and shouldn't be far away if able to get back on track having shaped well on her first 2 starts.

Form: 330

Forecasts

Cool Party (10/11), Dragonball Prince (15/8), Wan'em (6/1), Royal Athena (18/1), Wong Kei (28/1), House Of Dragons (40/1), Raintown (100/1)

This is more demanding than the Epsom maiden COOL PARTY landed at the end of August, but he did the job well and may find the necessary improvement to follow up under a penalty here. Dragonball Prince stepped up on his debut effort when third at Nottingham and he is greatly respected, while Wan'Em is best of the rest.
