bet365 Charlie Hall Meeting 28th-29th October Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 16:18 | Winning time: 4m 50.50s

Not What It Seems^h¹⁶²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽⁵⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 114| D

10/11

Has plenty of experience for a novice and won a brace of 19.9f handicaps at Sedgefield when last seen in the spring. Double penalty to carry but likely to give it a good shot.

Form: 46291-1

Artic Breeze⁹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Adam Wedge| T: L Morgan

25/1

Off mark in Irish points at third attempt in February but low-key start to Rules career this summer.

Form: 6/51-66

Ballyporeen¹¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: R Menzies

5/2

Promise in a trio of Irish bumpers for J. J. Lambe in May/June. Since joined a successful yard so has to be of interest now hurdling.

Form: 553

High Yield⁹¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Philip Armson⁽³⁾| T: Sara Ender

11/1

Signs of only a little ability in 3 bumpers and probably a staying handicap project over hurdles. Tongue tie left off for new yard.

Form: 00-853

Octavius Sabini

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Aaron Anderson⁽⁵⁾| T: J Bedi

11/1

Brother to useful bumper winner/smart hurdler Augusta Kate, dam dual bumper winner/smart unbeaten Grade 1 winning hurdler (raced at 2m). Pedigree clearly offers plenty of hope.

Form:

Timetotalk¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Craig Nichol| T: Chris McSharry

11/1

Found some improvement back from 15 months off when going agonisingly close to landing a gamble in a Kelso bumper in May. Jumping lacked fluency when well held on hurdles debut a fortnight ago.

Form: 36/274

Non-Runners

Carlo Du Berlais²⁰⁴

Weight: 11-0| Age: 5

T: F O'Brien J: C Brace

A Definite Getaway

Weight: 10-12| Age: 4

T: B Pauling J: N de Boinville

Forecasts

Not What It Seems (10/11), Ballyporeen (5/2), A Definite Getaway (10/3), Carlo Du Berlais (15/2), Timetotalk (11/1), High Yield (11/1), Octavius Sabini (11/1), Artic Breeze (25/1)

BALLYPOREEN showed enough in his Irish bumpers to make him of serious interest now hurdling up in trip for his excellent new yard. Not What It Seems is very experienced for a novice and already has 2 wins on the board, while Carlo du Berlais and A Definite Player also make some appeal.
