GHERKIN had testing ground as an excuse for a lesser run at Sandown last time and, from a handy draw in stall 3, might be worth siding with from a mark just 1 lb higher than when scoring with a degree of comfort at Windsor during the summer. Alfred Cove will be a threat if he can back up his latest good effort in novice company. Brazen Diamond has done well since switched to handicaps and should also play a part if the outside stall doesn't prove too troublesome.
