Bumper winner here in October 2019 and placed on first 3 starts in this sphere. Only sixth when favourite for a 2m Plumpton handicap in a first-time tongue strap (retained) when last seen in February, but can be forgiven that run and he resumes on a 2 lb lower mark.

In fine form on the Flat in Jersey this summer, winning four times on the bounce between June and August. Continued the good work back hurdling under this rider at Worcester (2m) last week and, unpenalised for that, she's very much the one to beat.

Produced a performance in line with Flat form when bolting up from a 9 lb lower mark over 17.7f here in June. May have needed recent spin on the level at Chelmsford following a 3-month break and he's not without hope back at this venue.

Performed with credit on several occasions over hurdles for Anthony McCann in Ireland but hasn't shown much in 3 starts for present connections. On the upside, the handicapper has been quick to relent and it's too soon to write this 7-y-o off.

Modest maiden on the Flat and has achieved only a similar level over hurdles. Latest third in a Stratford seller (18.7f) was one of his better efforts (cheekpieces replaced the first-time blinkers he sported that day) but more will be needed if he's to open his account here.

Arrives here on the back of a string of decent efforts on the Flat but was beaten best part of 20 lengths in the handicap won by Beat The Heat here on his latest hurdles start in June.

Looks pretty limited judged on what she's shown in 4 starts over hurdles and big step forward needed now handicapping.

Left previous efforts well behind when runner-up over 21.8f here in May. However, failed to back that up returned to this course next time and probably best watched following a 4-month absence.

Princess T (7/4), Baddesley (85/40), Beat The Heat (5/1), Cluain Aodha (5/1), Dev Of Tara (8/1), Mise Raftaire (10/1), Iconic Mover (12/1), What's My Line (14/1), Albert Van Ornum (14/1), Stigwood (16/1), Shesupincourt (100/1)

Verdict

The obvious place to turn is PRINCESS T, who escapes a penalty following her decisive success in a conditionals' handicap at Worcester last week and she's officially 6 lb 'well-in'. Baddesley failed to measure up to market expectations on his final start of last season but he's well worth another chance and is second choice. Dev of Tara may well step up on what he showed in Irish maiden hurdles now handicapping for new connections and is also considered, along with course winner Beat The Heat.
