Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable third of 6 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, good, 6/4) 33 days ago. Improvement needed now tried in a visor, but well bred and couldn't be in better hands.

25/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at Sandown (9f, good) 16 days ago. Shaped as though working her way back to form that day and she's slipped to a dangerous mark, but she doesn't appear to be exactly crying out for this trip.

Lightly-raced maiden. 9/4, third of 5 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, good to firm) 27 days ago. Needs to raise her game a touch but, with just five runs under her belt, that is entirely possible.

Latest win at Nottingham in July. 11/2, sixth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 28 days ago. Others make more appeal.

6/5, career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 24 days ago, readily. 4 lb rise by no means unfair, but this is a more demanding assignment.

Forecasts

Whimsy (11/4), Chichen Itza (3/1), D Day Odette (9/2), Stellar Queen (8/1), Outside World (9/1), Miss Harmony (9/1), Renegade Rose (10/1)

Verdict

This drop back in trip is unlikely to inconvenience WHIMSY, who couldn't match strides with a progressive filly at Kempton but it was a solid effort nonetheless and she could prove hard to peg back if allowed to control the tempo. It's still early days for the maidens D Day Odette and Chichen Itza, with the former marginally preferred as the main danger. Outside World has dropped to a handy mark but this trip is a worry given that she seemingly failed to get home over 9f at Sandown recently.
