Leger Festival On Sky Sports Racing Conditional Jockeys' Mares' Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 13:30 | Winning time: 5m 20.49s

Tara Niece^t¹²

Age: 9| Weight: 12-0| J: Joe Anderson⁽⁶⁾| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 93| D

6/1

Modest hurdler who was in reasonable form prior to unseating in a handicap at Worcester on chasing debut. Not discounted back in this sphere.

Form: 4/6356U

Barely Famous^t⁵²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Jack Hogan⁽³⁾| T: R Potter| OR: 89

18/1

Uttoxeter maiden winner last summer, but bought cheaply out of Nicky Henderson's stable and well held for Joe Ponting. Now starts out for another new yard with something to prove.

Form: P6-P980

Sweet Moon^t1¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 11-9| J: K Brogan| T: Miss A Murphy| OR: 91

9/1

Runner-up in a point and has shown something to work on over hurdles, shaping as if better for the run when fifth in a novice at Worcester on stable debut last time. Now tongue tied for handicap switch. Interesting.

Form: 2-235

Dynamic Kate^p,t¹²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: Miss Thomosina Eyston⁽¹⁰⁾| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 88| BF| CD

2/5

Showed much improved form to finally get off the mark in 9-runner handicap hurdle (7/2) over C&D last month and backed it up with a solid effort in second at Worcester. Should go well again.

Form: 43-3U12

Baby Sham¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-13| J: Daniel Sansom| T: J W Mullins| OR: 81

25/1

Modest Flat AW winner but a poor maiden handicap hurdler.

Form: 35036-6

Kalaya^p¹¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-8| J: Philip Armson| T: F Brennan| OR: 73

66/1

Limited impact on Flat/over hurdles and hard to fancy following a poor recent run on the level. Cheekpieces are back on.

Form: PD6P7/P-

Le Mur⁵⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-4| J: Caoilin Quinn⁽⁶⁾| T: W Greatrex| OR: 69

9/1

Left Fergal O'Brien after one run and little to shout about in 4 starts for present stable, only fourth at Stratford last time. This trip should suit, though.

Form: 0-4594

Non-Runners

Lady Samson⁸⁰

Weight: 11-7| Age: 4

T: P & M Bowen J: Liam Harrison

Forecasts

Dynamic Kate (2/5), Tara Niece (6/1), Sweet Moon (9/1), Le Mur (9/1), Lady Samson (12/1), Barely Famous (18/1), Baby Sham (25/1), Kalaya (66/1)

SWEET MOON has been second in a point and there has been sufficient encouragement over hurdles so far to think she can defy a mark of 91 at the first attempt. The bang-in-form Dynamic Kate looks a threat, and Tara Niece is worthy of respect back over hurdles.
