Pettochside⁶⁵

Age: 13| Weight: 10-1| J: Gina Mangan⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Bridger| OR: 69| CD

9/2

Veteran who is a 3-time C&D winner. Not at best at Salisbury in June but prior to that he'd been shaping as if he might still have a race in him despite his advancing years. Can go well fresh. Considered.

Gherkin^b²⁵

13/8

Back on the scoreboard at Windsor in June. Creditable third of 10 there (5f, good to firm) 25 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Merits consideration.

Eastern Star¹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-4| J: Mollie Phillips⁽⁵⁾| T: A W Carroll| OR: 58| D

4/1

Ungenuine type but he did record a first handicap success in a small field over 5f at Leicester (all 3 wins there) earlier this month. 5 lb rise may stop him.

Forecasts

Gherkin (13/8), Street Life (3/1), The Defiant (4/1), Eastern Star (4/1), Pettochside (9/2), Eeh Bah Gum (9/2), Ellie Piper (7/1), Vandad (10/1), The Daley Express (12/1), My Joker (12/1), Nordic Glory (12/1), Hey Ho Let's Go (14/1), Ornate (20/1)

It might be worth chancing PETTOCHSIDE to roll back the years as his 2 runner-up efforts at the start of the summer suggest this teenager might still be up to adding to his 18 career wins. The Defiant, a recent winner at Lingfield, Street Life and Gherkin head the dangers.
