Three wins from 9 runs this year. 10/3, improved on recent efforts to win 8-runner handicap at York (16.2f, good to firm) 20 days ago, forging clear. Clearly at the top of his game, but new mark demands a clear personal best.
Latest win at Sandown in June. Fifth of 6 in handicap (11/2) at Sandown (14f, good) 42 days ago. Looks vulnerable from a win point of view here.
Modest winner at 17f over hurdles. 7/2, bit below form fourth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Three-time winner in this sphere, but below par on latest Flat start back in April 2021.
Winner here in June. Good second of 10 in handicap at Ffos Las (16f, good, 5/2) 38 days ago. Remains on a fair mark following a 4 lb rise and likely to be on the premises once again.
7/2, 1¼ lengths fourth of 6 to Rushford in handicap at Sandown (14f, good) 16 days ago, well positioned. 4 lb better off with that rival now and Ryan Moore booked, so there's cause for optimism.
16/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Sandown (14f, good) 16 days ago by head from Pons Aelius, overcoming pace bias. 4 lb rise looks manageable and he's a big player.
5/1, creditable second of 11 in handicap at Limerick (11.5f, good to firm) 62 days ago. Significantly up in trip on debut for new yard and needs to raise his game.
Three wins from 9 runs this year. Latest win at Newmarket in July. 11/4, good head second of 6 to Rushford in handicap at Sandown (14f, good) 16 days ago, having run of race. No reason to think that he won't be in the mix here, too.

Forecasts
Pons Aelius (11/4), First Officer (10/3), Red Force One (4/1), Alpine Stroll (9/2), Rushford (6/1), High Wells (12/1), I Have A Voice (33/1), Ranco (50/1)
RUSHFORD displayed battling qualities when narrowly getting the better of Pons Aelius in first-time cheekpieces at Sandown recently and, with the likelihood of better to come, he is taken to strike again. Pons Aelius can be expected to give another good account, but he did have the run of things on that occasion, a scenario which appears unlikely here, and a bigger threat may be posed by Alpine Stroll, who has done little wrong this season and remains on a workable mark.
