Maysong^p²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 9-13| J: Christian Howarth⁽⁵⁾| T: Alice Haynes| OR: 76

5/1

In good form since joining this yard, snapping a losing run dating back to 2019 when easily taking Sandown amateur riders' event 4 weeks ago, albeit that race did set up perfectly with the leaders going off too hard. 8 lb higher here.

Form: 642221

Be Lucky My Son¹⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Laura Pearson⁽³⁾| T: R M Beckett| OR: 78

4/1

Won back to back over 1m at Chelmsford and Bath in June. Found a Newmarket Class 2 too hot to handle last time but he's respected back in these calmer waters.

Form: 14-4118

(3)

Otago¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-5| J: Charlie Bennett| T: J R Boyle| OR: 68| C

10/1

Course winner. Latest win at Brighton in May. Fourth of 6 in handicap (9/2) at this course (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Up in trip.

Form: 521444

(4)

Intercessor^b¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-4| J: Rhys Clutterbuck⁽³⁾| T: J Gallagher| OR: 67| BF| CD

11/8

Has a win and second to his name over C&D this month. Pulled 4 lengths clear of the third last time so he could be on a decent mark off 3 lb higher on this occasion.

Form: 253512

(2)

Canagat¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 8-12| J: Thore Hammer-Hansen| T: J R Boyle| OR: 61

9/2

Nineteen runs since last win in 2020. Respectable third of 7 in C&D handicap (good to firm) 14 days ago. One of 2 runners for his trainer.

Form: 558443

Plymouth Rock^p,t¹³⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 8-11| J: Aidan Keeley⁽⁵⁾| T: L Carter| OR: 57

100/1

Badly out of sorts when last seen at the start of the year. Remains to be seen if a break since then has made any difference.

Form: 9860-09

Forecasts

Intercessor (11/8), Be Lucky My Son (4/1), Canagat (9/2), Maysong (5/1), Otago (10/1), Balgair (20/1), Plymouth Rock (100/1)

INTERCESSOR has been in cracking form over C&D this month and might be up to notching another win. This is considerably easier than the Class 2 3-y-o handicap at Newmarket's July meeting which Be Lucky My Son contested last time and he's taken to bounce back to form and provide the chief threat ahead of Sandown winner Maysong.
