Narrowly failed to land the odds on debut at Ayr, but made no mistake when again short in the betting at Kelso (16.2f, good to firm). The one to beat here, despite carrying a penalty.

Down the field on her introduction at Southwell in March and while she's in very good hands, chances are she'll need more time.

Midnight Legend mare. Half-sister to modest hurdler Fs Lola. Dam 17f bumper/19f hurdle winner (stayed 21f). Represents a leading yard and the market should be instructive. Wears tongue strap.

£5,500 3-y-o, Telescope mare. Half-sister to bumper winner Super Duper Sam. Limited appeal on paper and, unless the betting suggests otherwise, she's probably best watched on debut.

Telescope filly. Dam modest 2m-19f hurdle winner. Will only be of interest first time out if the market vibes are notably upbeat.

Pretty appealing pedigree-wise and yard can certainly ready one first time out, so it will be interesting to see what the market has to say.

Nearer last then first starting out in a Southwell bumper three weeks ago, but better was evidently expected (well backed and sent off at 7/2) and it will be worth noting if the market again speaks in her favour.

Half-sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful 2m hurdle winner Ocean Jive. Readily brushed aside by the wide-margin winner when runner-up on debut at Worcester (2m, good to soft), but that experience won't be wasted on her and she couldn't be in better hands.

Forecasts

Come On Du Berlais (8/13), Carrigeen Kampala (4/1), Justmyimagination (8/1), Midnight Rose (10/1), Betsy Boo (12/1), Copper Vale (14/1), Shropshire (40/1), Carreg Eye (50/1)

Verdict

COME ON DU BERLAIS will probably need to pull out a little more in order to defy a penalty following her Kelso success, but this doesn't look a particularly strong race and she may well prove equal to the task. Newcomers Midnight Rose and Carrigeen Kampala both need a market check, while Copper Vale is clearly thought capable of better than she showed on debut, but Justmyimagination is likely to emerge as the main danger.
