Found the Sandringham at Royal Ascot way too competitive last time but had finished runner-up off 1 lb higher at Newmarket prior to that. Respected back in much calmer waters.
AW maiden winner on final 2-y-o starts but hasn't backed that up in 2 handicap starts this spring. First-time cheekpieces need to have a positive effect.
Improved last twice, going close at Sandown before length fourth at Newbury (both 7f). Ought to be in the thick of things again.
Quirky sort but doing little wrong currently, making all over 6f at Salisbury and Nottingham last month. Shaped as if still in good form when third at Leicester (6f) since. Whether 7f suits remains to be seen.
Didn't need to be at best when winning 5-runner claimer at Leicester (7f, good to soft, 11/4) 38 days ago, driven out. First run for yard after leaving George Boughey.
Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 4 in C&D novice (good to firm, 11/2) 34 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Opening mark demands improvement.

Forecasts
Stockpyle (13/8), Devon Envoy (10/3), Dark Swansong (7/2), Aunt Bethany (5/1), Letter Of The Law (16/1), My Opinion (40/1)
STOCKPYLE has been knocking at the door and this might be his day. With doubts about the thriving Devon Envoy over this trip it could be that the chief threat comes from Aunt Bethany, who should find this a good a bit easier than the Royal Ascot handicap she contested last time.
