Cheekpieces on first time, much improved when returning from a year off to win 1m Chelmsford novice and backed it up by landing a handicap (lead late) at Lingfield in June. More to come, so well respected.

Easily off the mark at the second attempting Doncaster novice lin June and acquitted himself well when runner-up (clear of rest) under a penalty at Newmarket later in the month. Likely to go on progressing.

Sea The Stars colt who showed a bright turn of foot to make a winning debut in a Chepstow maiden, then overcame early keenness to defy a penalty in ready style. Excellent prospect who is fancied to maintain unbeaten run.

Boasts a progressive profile and had something to spare when doubling his tally in a Kempton novice in March. Has remained in form since, seventh of 19 in the King George V Stakes at the Royal meeting here last time. Not ruled out.

Winner at Wolverhampton in April but yet to kick on from that, just a respectable third at Kempton last time. Drop in trip unlikely to suit.

Forecasts

Sea The Casper (15/8), Surrey Mist (3/1), First Ruler (4/1), Big Meeting (4/1), Etonian (22/1), Scampi (22/1)

Verdict

SEA THE CASPER has looked a bright prospect in winning his first 2 starts, well on top despite racing freely at Redcar last time, and a mark of 92 could underestimate this potentially Group-class 3yo. He's an obvious choice ahead of Big Meeting, who did well to get up close home at Lingfield last month, and First Ruler is another one to consider.
