Ten-time winner in France (four of those wins gained over fences) and bettered previous efforts for this yard when third at Newton Abbot last month. However, well held at Ffos Las six days later and connections now roll the dice with blinkers.

Much-improved when opening chase account in first-time blinkers at Hereford in April. Followed up at Wincanton later that month and has to enter calculations here, for all that he was beaten a fair way at Sedgefield last time.

Back to form following a four-month break/wind op when striking at Plumpton in April. Creditable efforts in defeat at Fontwell and Ludlow subsequently, and it's not hard to envisage this 8-y-o playing a leading role.

Showed his first form for his current yard on the back of a breathing operation/15 months off when third in a 19f novice hurdle at Warwick in May. Not so good next time, though, and a step forward is needed now switched to fences.

Looked better than ever when doubling his tally over fences back from eight months off at Worcester in May. That race was admittedly run to suit, but he quickened away from his rivals in good style and this 8 lb higher mark may be within reach.

Off the mark in a Leicester handicap hurdle in December and back in the winning groove with first-time blinkers enlisted in a seller here (also over hurdles) last month. However, will need to raise his game if he's to make a winning chase debut.

The manner of CAWTHORNE's reappearance success at Worcester in May was sufficiently emphatic to suggest that he is capable of going in again, despite being hit with an 8 lb rise in the weights. Gosuatri was in good form prior to his Sedgefield reverse and will be a threat if able to bounce back here, but Richie Valentine arrives here in good heart and he is feared most.
