5/6

Promising individual. First run since leaving James Andrew Fahey when career best when winning 21-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (19.6f, good, 11/4) 36 days ago. Interesting with prospect of more to come.

Desert Friend²⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Donagh Meyler| T: D Hogan| OR: 118

9/1

Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. 10/1, career best when winning 18-runner novice hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft) 28 days ago. This tougher but he's respected on that evidence.

Form: 258-1

Dovlator³¹

12/1

Twice-raced winner over hurdles. Won 11-runner novice hurdle at Down Royal (20.4f, good to soft, 16/1) 31 days ago, finding plenty to lead final 100 yds. That ought not prove his limit.

Form: P/37P-61

Back The West²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Gavin Brouder⁽⁵⁾| T: I Madden| OR: 83

80/1

Modest hurdler. Respectable sixth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (24.4f, good to soft, 10/1) 29 days ago. Very hard to make a case for.

Form: P858-56

Ballybaun Star^t³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: T Gibney

7/2

Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Career best when winning 15-runner novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (18.5f, good to soft, 5/2) 35 days ago, forging clear. More on his plate now but still low mileage and he's respected.

Forecasts

Salvador Ziggy (5/6), Ballybaun Star (7/2), Rockanrye (5/1), Granny Lowrie (17/2), Desert Friend (9/1), Dovlator (12/1), Highland Sting (20/1), Back The West (80/1), Runway Queen (100/1)

SALVADOR ZIGGY showed much-improved form to make a winning debut for Gordon Elliott at Punchestown 5 weeks ago and, with potential for better still on that evidence, he could be up to defying weight all round and following up. Ballybaun Star and Desert Friend are also fancied to feature.
