Useful on Flat and quickly back on track when easily opening his hurdle account in first-time cheekpieces in a C&D novice 23 days ago. Can defy a penalty.

5/4
Point scorer who showed plenty on first of 2 starts in bumpers and firmly back on track when running out a decisive winner of an Ayr maiden hurdle (2m) in May. Not seen to best effect when second at Kelso since and remains with potential.

Hit the frame on both starts in points and made a successful debut over hurdles in 12-runner novice at Uttoxeter (15.8f) 15 days ago, staying on to lead close home. Entitled to progress.

28/1
Modest performer on the Flat who has run poorly the last twice, so returns to hurdling with something to prove.

Showed little in a bumper/maiden hurdle for Evan Williams. Sold cheaply in January but made a winning debut in points 2 months later (unseated last time).

Forecasts

Ted Hastings (5/4), Battle Of Toro (11/8), Haveyougotmymoney (6/1), Ain't No Sunshine (18/1), Quoteline Direct (28/1), Breaking Records (50/1), Rocambolas (50/1)

Verdict

BATTLE OF TORO didn't beat much when scoring by a wide margin over C&D earlier in the month, but his Flat form provides hope for better still, so he's fancied to defy a penalty. Ted Hastings was unsuited by how the race developed at Kelso last time and retains potential.
