Ended last term with success at Nottingham (final start for Mick Appleby) but some way below that level in trio of starts upon joining present yard this spring. Mark is steadily easing at least.
6/1, first run since leaving Des Donovan when bit below form fifth of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (1m) 16 days ago. That was his first start for 6 months and better showing not ruled out in re-fitted cheekpieces.
Maiden who stepped up on return when finishing a creditable third of 7 in handicap at Bath (1m) 3 weeks ago, albeit still a fair way short of her best having been granted the run of the race.
2 wins from 5 runs this year. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap (6/1) at Brighton (7f, good) 23 days ago, keeping on despite not being ideally placed. Remains one to bear in mind from this sort of mark. Cheekpieces back on.
Course winner. 3/1, respectable fourth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form.
Temperamental sort. Respectable fourth of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) in January, nearest finish. Remains 3 lb above last winning mark but he boasts a sound course record and not underestimated returning from a break.
Low-mileage 4-y-o who ran best race when 3 lengths fifth of 9 in a Lingfield handicap (6f) back in November 2020. Clearly not been easy to train to be absent since but gelded and market should prove a useful guide here.
Course winner who bounced back to form to score at Doncaster (7f) in April. Rather typically pulled his chance away when last of 7 in a C&D handicap since. Drops back in to class 6 company now.

Forecasts
Bonus (7/4), Tipperary Moon (11/4), Pontius (7/1), Moonlit Cloud (15/2), Foreseeable Future (15/2), Split Elevens (11/1), Shyjack (18/1), Mehmo (66/1)
A competitive finale with the vote in favour of BONUS. Not disgraced in a couple of starts so far this term, his mark is steadily easing and, with his promising apprentice taking off a valuable 5 lb, he could be ready to strike. Tipperary Moon may well come forward for his return/yard debut effort at Newcastle and is feared ahead of Shyjack. Pontius on the back of a lengthy absence demands close market scrutiny.
