Runner-up sole start in Irish points. Last of 6 only start in bumpers but much more like it over hurdles last summer, winning 2 of his 5 starts at around 2m. Makes obvious appeal on handicap chase debut/stepping up in trip.

Bumper winner who left hurdles debut in his wake when landing a Plumpton novice hurdle (20.5f) in November. Hard pulling didn't help thereafter but not disgraced when third of 4 over hurdles at Ffos Las (20f) last month. Chase debut.

Has had plenty of racing for a 5-y-o and he duly opened chase account for this yard at Stratford (19.5f) in April. Runner-up on 2 of last 3 starts but he was some way below his best when last of 5 at Fontwell (21.6f) on Sunday. Cheekpieces replace blinkers.

Well-bred winning pointer who was brought along gradually over hurdles in Ireland. Much improved from stable debut to score on handicap debut at Bangor (23f) when last seen. Off 10 months but interesting on chasing bow.

Verdict

A former winner in points, GLENDRUID showed improved form to make a winning handicap hurdle debut when last seen at Bangor in July. The type to do better still now his attentions are switched to larger obstacles he earns the vote to make light of an absence and continue the good work, with fellow chase debutant Our Colossus who was 2-5 over hurdles, also fancied to play a lead role.
