Nottingham specialist who ended last season with a creditable third at that venue, bumping into a couple of much less-exposed sorts. Has needed the run previously returning from a break so others make more appeal on this occasion.

Scored twice for this yard in her 3-y-o campaign but she's clearly had her issues having not been seen for 20 months. This outing likely to reveal what ability remains.

Left first 2 runs of the year behind to gain fourth career success (all on AW) at Wolverhampton (5f) in March but failed to finish as well as she travelled back on turf at Hamilton recently. That tempers enthusiasm somewhat for this.

Landed a second 5f Musselburgh success of last season when seeing off 8 rivals in the mud in October but unable to land a blow in a much stronger race 4 days later at this course (6f). Worth a market check returning from 7 months off.

Third win when coming through in good style from off the pace to lead late on at Carlisle (5f) last August and shaped as if just needing the run after 8 months off when fourth at Hamilton earlier this month. One to bear in mind from this mark.

Winless last season but ended the campaign with a pair of placed efforts at Nottingham (5f) from his easing mark. Likely first run for 4 months/yard debut was needed at Southwell in February (had breathing operation) and now operating from career-low mark.

Veteran who ended last season with a bit of a whimper and made no impression on return at Catterick 6 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere.

Shaped as if better for the run after 7 months off when fourth at Wolverhampton earlier this month, fading final 50 yds. This a rare start on the turf nowadays but his latest effort back in September (over C&D) was a winning one. Interesting.

Forecasts

Sound Reason (13/8), Celsius (4/1), Miss Nay Never (5/1), Never Dark (6/1), Sampers Seven (13/2), Indian Sounds (13/2), Hey Mr (7/1), Modular Magic (7/1), Street Life (9/1), Ballintoy Harbour (10/1), Wrenthorpe (14/1), Duke Of Firenze (40/1)

Verdict

A few in with a chance but the vote goes to SOUND REASON. Kevin Ryan's charge shaped as if the run was needed when fourth at Hamilton earlier this month, and with his mark easing a shade further on the back of that effort, he's fancied to notch career victory number 4. Paul Midgley saddles a couple and his Ballintoy Harbour could be the one to give the selection most to think about, ahead of C&D winner Street Life.
