Flat winner who improved when opening his hurdles account under a positive ride from Becky Smith at Sedgefield (27f, good) three weeks ago. 4 lb rise tolerable and another bold show anticipated.

Seven-race maiden who has not helped himself by racing freely on his last two starts (both at Warwick). However, placed twice in handicaps off higher marks than this in February/March and leading claims in this uncompetitive affair.

Forecasts

Money Spinner (11/8), Balkotic (11/4), Robeam (13/2), Landacre Bridge (17/2), Simply Mani (9/1), Magellan (11/1)

Verdict

BALKOTIC admittedly had the run of things when making virtually all the running at Sedgefield, but it was an improved display whichever way you look at it and a 4 lb rise probably won't be enough to prevent him from following up. Money Spinner is the clear main danger given that Simply Mani is returning from a 21-month absence.
