Below form following a wind op in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (24.4f) in March and again failed to see things out (in 1st time cheekpieces) when seventh at Perth (20.2f) last time. Makes chase debut.
Has taken well to fences, bagging handicaps at around 2m at Hereford and Sedgefield in November. Creditable second at Wincanton in April, before a below-par effort only 8 days later. Major player.
Bagged 17f handicap chases at Market Rasen and Stratford in August. In-and-out since, finishing well held on both starts for current yard last month. Back down to last winning mark. Could bounce back.
Opened his account over fences at Sedgefield (16.3f) on return last season. Only fifth of 7 in a higher grade over C&D when last seen, but he's a contender if ready to go after 7 months off.
Built on trio of placed efforts when landing handicap hurdle at Stratford (18.7f) in August. Remained in form on his following 2 starts in October. Off 7 months ahead of this chase debut.
Irresolute veteran, winless since 2017. Ran one of better races when third in handicap at Sedgefield (16.3f) in February, but finished fourth of 4 at Ffos Las next time.
Point runner-up. Tailed off on 3 outings over hurdles last season, but from 10 lb out of the weights showed first form under Rules on handicap debut over C&D 15 days ago, left poorly placed.
Showed ability on the first of his 2 outings on the Flat for Martyn Meade but has offered little on his 3 starts over hurdles. Now sent chasing as he makes his handicap debut.

Forecasts
Blumen Glory (3/1), School For Scandal (10/3), Serjeant Painter (4/1), Captain Cobajay (9/2), Cawthorne (17/2), Obey The Rules (17/2), Yourholidayisover (25/1), Theoule (33/1)
OBEY THE RULES took well to fences last season, winning a pair of handicaps, and he can make a successful start to the current campaign. The 7-y-o ran below par at Fakenham last time but that was after only 8 days off, so he can bounce back after a break. Captain Cobajay is back down to his last winning mark and feared most, ahead of Cawthorne who is dropping in grade on his return.
