Promise both outings in bumpers, not ideally placed when third at Limerick 4 months ago. Notable contender on British debut.

€20,000 3-y-o, £50,000 4-y-o, Kingston Hill gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful chaser Hazzaar, stays 19f. Runner-up sole outing in Irish point (Feb 12), and bumper runners from yard continue to impress.

Universal gelding. Brother to fairly useful 19f hurdle winner Universal Dave. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (2½m/21f winner) Rathcor.

Proconsul gelding. Dam ran once over hurdles/modest maiden on Flat. Doesn't make much appeal on breeding, but stable has been in rude health lately.

Cheap Kodiac gelding who didn't offer a great deal when fifth at Hereford 51 days ago. Easily passed over.

Half-brother to French 9.5f winner and showed plenty to work on when runner-up at Bangor on debut, doing his best work at the finish. Might not need to improve on that to go one better.

Delegator mare. Half-sister to numerous winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chaser Ganbei and fair hurdler/fairly useful 2½m chase winner John Louis. One to note on pedigree.

Forecasts

Copshill Lad (4/5), The Kniphand (11/4), Mullinaree (9/2), Gentleman Jake (18/1), Petit Bijou (20/1), Democritus (50/1), Its Going Rome (50/1)

Verdict

COPSHILL LAD was picked up for £50,000 after a promising second between the flags and, having joined a stable adept at preparing newcomers in bumpers, he makes plenty of appeal. The Kniphand is a big danger following a pleasing start at Bangor, and Mullinaree should be respected having made the trip over from Ireland.
