Improvised¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: D Tudhope| T: D O'Meara| OR: 86| CD

7/2

Three-time winner over 6f/7f last summer. Found a 6f Newmarket listed a bit too much on reappearance but every chance she'll get back on track returned to a handicap.

Form: 11126-6

Mid Winster³²

Age: 6| Weight: 10-1| J: G Lee| T: P T Midgley| OR: 85| BF| D

11/2

Just 1 win in 2021 but there were several fine efforts in defeat along the way, including over this C&D. Creditable fourth on 5f Beverley reappearance last month and likely to give another good account of herself.

Form: 17258-4

(1)

Al Simmo²²

Age: 5| Weight: 9-8| J: C Lee| T: Steph Hollinshead| OR: 78| D

7/2

Four wins around 6f in a very productive 2021. Off 7 months, might have needed her comeback run at Leicester 3 weeks ago.

Form: 12127-7

(6)

Selby's Pride¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: P Mathers| T: T Coyle & K Wood| OR: 83| C

11/2

Course novice winner last August. Solid start to her handicap career when placed over 5f on first 2 starts this term and a lesser run at Chester last time is probably worth forgiving given she raced wide.

Form: 212-336

(2)

Sandbeck²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: K Stott| T: E Bethell| OR: 81| D

15/8

Took her career record to 2-3 when making a winning start for new trainer Ed Bethell in 5f Nottingham handicap (good to firm) last month. Came clear with the second on that occasion so a 6 lb rise may not stop her with further progress very much on cards.

Form: 18-1

Forecasts

Sandbeck (15/8), Al Simmo (7/2), Improvised (7/2), Selby's Pride (11/2), Mid Winster (11/2), True Jem (7/1)

There should be more to come from the lightly-raced SANDBECK so she's taken to make light of a 6 lb rise. Mid Winster ran well on her Beverely return last month and can give the selection most to think about ahead of Improvised, who should find life a bit easier back in handicap company after flying too high at listed level on her return.
