Cazoo Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 19:20 | Winning time: 3m 56.90s

Captain Ivan^t1²⁶¹

Age: 8| Weight: 12-1| J: Adam Wedge| T: L Morgan| OR: 111| BF| D

22/1

Maiden/novice winner for Johnny Farrelly last summer. Disappointing handicap debut when last seen in August but joined a good yard and tongue tie on for return.

Form: 68/3116-

London Eye^p²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Thomas Doggrell⁽⁷⁾| T: C A Dwyer| OR: 110| D

15/2

Worcester maiden hurdle winner (2m) in September and matched that when fourth in handicap company here in March. Fair Flat run 3 weeks ago and cheekpieces on first time in this code.

Form: 3142P4-

Coastguard Station^p³⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Lorcan Williams| T: Henry Oliver| OR: 110| CD

10/11

Point winner and going the right way over hurdles, making all with the minimum of fuss in a C&D novice last month. Opening mark may underestimate him.

Form: 112921-

Eviscerating^p,t¹⁵⁸

Age: 10| Weight: 11-12| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: Sara Ender| OR: 108| D

40/1

Returning from 16-month absence when good second over 2m at Wetherby in March 2021. Unable to match that form since and rarely finishes with much conviction.

Form: 026/584-

Fanfan Du Seuil¹³⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: J J Burke| T: T R George| OR: 105

6/1

Stopped the slide back from a break when second of 9 at Huntingdon in October. Back into his shell to end 2021 so clearly comes with risks attached.

Form: P0/236P-

Lucky Lover Boy^p,t³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-6| J: Craig Nichol| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 102| D

22/1

Flat/multiple hurdles winner earlier in career who has plummeted in weights and ran best race for a while when fourth in 13-runner Carlisle handicap (17f) in March. Failed to back it up at Bangor.

Form: 97/7049-

El Diablo^p²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Benjamin Poste| T: H Dickin| OR: 98

40/1

Point winner and first form under Rules dropped markedly in trip and fitted with cheekpieces when fourth over C&D last month. That isn't a particularly solid piece of form.

Form: 1PP4-

Knotty Ash¹⁴³

Age: 4| Weight: 11-1| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 103

14/1

Flat bred but justified short-priced favouritism on debut at Market Rasen in June. Unable to continue the good work twice since but given a break and drying ground may help his cause.

Form: 1467-

Duke Of Luckley³²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: S Bowen| T: M Keighley| OR: 96

9/2

Best effort yet when second of 9 on handicap debut at Taunton a month ago. No chance with the winner that day but the third has won since.

Form: 9P9F2-

Forecasts

Coastguard Station (10/11), Duke Of Luckley (9/2), Fanfan Du Seuil (6/1), London Eye (15/2), Knotty Ash (14/1), Captain Ivan (22/1), Lucky Lover Boy (22/1), Eviscerating (40/1), El Diablo (40/1)

COASTGUARD STATION was value for extra when an easy winner of a C&D novice last month and his opening mark could prove to be lenient. Captain Ivan starts out for a good yard and is one to consider, while Knotty Ash could easily up his game away from winter ground.
