Off the mark over hurdles at the tenth attempt when landing a soft-ground C&D novice last month. Forecast quicker ground won't be a problem, but another personal best will be needed in order to a defy a penalty.

Ex-pointer who has displayed fair form in maiden/novice hurdles, clear of the rest when chasing home Parisencore (winner again since) at Haydock (15.6f, good to firm) last time. Obvious claims.

Failed to make an impact in four starts for Nicky Henderson and while he wasn't disgraced on debut for new yard in a Catterick maiden, his subsequent effort in a handicap at Doncaster left much to be desired.

Winner on the Flat last year and stepped up on previous efforts in this sphere when third in a 5-runner C&D novice a fortnight ago. Remains open to improvement as a hurdler and he needs considering.

Runner-up on debut in a Kelso bumper in September, but it would be an understatement to say that she has failed to build on that since, well beaten when last of four on hurdles bow at Newcastle in March. Since undergone a wind op.

Forecasts

Not What It Seems (1/1), Cartonne (11/10), Teescomponentsfly (10/1), Clean Getaway (40/1), Pepite Fleurie (50/1)

Verdict

Flat winner TEESCOMPONENTSFLY is likely to come into his own when switched to handicaps in this sphere, but he showed more than enough when third in a similar event over C&D recently to suggest that he can deliver the goods in a race of this nature. Not What It Seems finally got the job done here last time, but he has more on his plate under a penalty and Cartonne, who hasn't done much wrong since switched to hurdles, is the clear main danger.
