Tritonic⁴³

Age: 5| Weight: 9-10| J: James Doyle| T: A King| OR: 97

9/2

Useful Flat performer who was disappointing a couple of times last season and hasn't really been firing over hurdles of late. Others make more appeal.

(7)

Rhythmic Intent²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 9-9| J: Marco Ghiani| T: S C Williams| OR: 96| D

18/1

Useful sort who bagged Mallard Handicap at Doncaster last autumn but hasn't been firing so far this term. Others make more appeal.

Form: 75150-0

(4)

Scarlet Dragon^h²⁰³

Age: 9| Weight: 9-8| J: W Buick| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR: 95| CD

14/1

Refused to race over hurdles last October but he's a consistent and talented Flat performer who has won over C&D before, so he could give a good account of himself on reappearance.

Form: 4/35660-

(2)

State Of Bliss⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: J Fanning| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 92| D

7/2

Career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Ripon (12f, good, 5/2) 7 days ago, suited by the drop in trip. Up 5 lb but looks the type to progress further.

Form: 340-581

(5)

Matchless⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-0| J: Lewis Edmunds| T: I Furtado| OR: 87

7/1

Back to best when scoring at Doncaster the last twice, making all comfortably 7 days ago. This is more competitive but he's dangerous if allowed his own way.

Form: 044411

(1)

Love Is Golden¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-0| J: Jason Hart| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 87| D

9/2

Placed on two of his three starts this year, and better than the result (met trouble) when a staying-on third at Epsom 11 days ago. One to consider.

Form: 208-203

(6)

Contact²¹

Age: 4| Weight: 8-12| J: B A Curtis| T: T D Barron| OR: 85| BF| D

11/4

Likeable type who returned with an improved display when second at Thirsk 3 weeks ago and looks bound to go well again for all this is a slightly better handicap. Well respected.

Form: 41544-2

Forecasts

Contact (11/4), State Of Bliss (7/2), Tritonic (9/2), Love Is Golden (9/2), Matchless (7/1), Scarlet Dragon (14/1), Rhythmic Intent (18/1)

A tightly-knit event which might go the way of CONTACT, who found only one too good at Thirsk 3 weeks ago and should do better again. Recent Ripon scorer State of Bliss is a threat, as is stablemate Love Is Golden, who didn't get the rub of the green last time.
