Cheltenam De Vaige²⁶

Age: 10| Weight: 12-4| J: Tom Broughton⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss H Lewis| OR: 116

33/1

Signed off for Fergal O'Brien with another success at Newton Abbot 8 months ago and arrives in form from points, so not completely discounted.

Form: P11432-

Dandy Dan¹⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 12-4| J: Miss L Keen-hawkins⁽⁷⁾| T: J Bourne| OR: 134| D

13/2

Useful chaser at best and arrives on a hat-trick having easily landed the odds in points the last twice. One to consider.

Form: P23U11-

Fifty Shades^p³³

Age: 9| Weight: 12-4| J: Mr Daniel Ellis⁽⁷⁾| T: N R Williams| OR: 107| BF| D

12/1

Third in this corresponding race last year and has already won a couple of points this season, so likely to give a good account of himself.

Form: 312112-

Mighty Stowaway^p,t⁴²

Age: 11| Weight: 12-4| J: Ben Sutton⁽⁷⁾| T: Mrs L Hill| OR: 130

9/2

Multiple point winner who looked as good as ever when an excellent third in the Festival Hunters' Chase here last time. Has left Gordon Elliott since, but solid claims again.

Form: 2211P3-

Salvatore⁵³

Age: 9| Weight: 12-4| J: Mr D Andrews⁽⁷⁾| T: P Rowley| OR: 128| BF

9/2

Multiple points winner who landed 7-runner hunter chase at Bangor in February. Not discredited at Southwell subsequently and this stiffer test will suit.

Form: 4/23413-

Sumkindofking^p²⁶

Age: 11| Weight: 12-4| J: Mr James King| T: Edward William Walker| OR: 119| D

25/1

Talented on his day for Tom George and has already won twice between the flags for current stable (beat Cheltenam de Vaige last time), so not a forlorn hope.

Form: 433221-

Zamparelli^b,t¹⁹

Age: 10| Weight: 12-4| J: Tristan Durrell⁽³⁾| T: Miss V Collins| OR: 115

33/1

Fairly useful chaser who has been runner-up in hunters the last twice. Should give his running, but may have to settle for a place again.

Form: 267222-

Caryto Des Brosses²⁰

Age: 10| Weight: 12-1| J: Mr D Peters⁽³⁾| T: D Kemp| OR: 134

6/4

Second to Hazel Hill in this back in 2019 and has looked as good as ever between the flags lately, bolting up 3 times this year. Bold jumper who could take all the beating.

Form: 22P/111-

Geordie B^p1⁴⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 12-1| J: Mr Tommie M O'Brien| T: C Boultbee-Brooks| OR: 130

14/1

Showed there's plenty of life in him when second of 4 in a hunter at Lingfield on first Rules outing for current stable, then didn't need to improve to go one better at Carlisle. Cheekpieces tried now.

Form: P43/321-

Story Of Friends^p¹⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr George Hiscock⁽⁷⁾| T: S Hosie| OR: 110| D

125/1

Fairly useful over hurdles and made a positive start for current yard in points. Disappointing return to Rules when remote second at Wincanton 19 days ago, though.

Form: 655212-

Trappist Monk¹¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Daniel Kyne⁽⁷⁾| T: R Varnham| OR: 115

40/1

Lost his way for Noel Meade under Rules (last seen chasing 17 months ago) and, while he scored between the flags recently, it's hard to see him making a serious impression.

Form: 0P/P321-

Non-Runners

Sonneofpresenting¹⁹

Weight: 12-4| Age: 12

T: Miss S Rippon J: Non Runner

Forecasts

Caryto Des Brosses (6/4), Mighty Stowaway (9/2), Salvatore (9/2), Dandy Dan (13/2), Fifty Shades (12/1), Geordie B (14/1), Sonneofpresenting (20/1), Sumkindofking (25/1), Cheltenam De Vaige (33/1), Zamparelli (33/1), Trappist Monk (40/1), Story Of Friends (125/1)

CARYTO DES BROSSES impressed on his previous spell in hunters and, while that's going back 3 years, his recent point exploits suggest he's every bit as good as ever, so he gets the nod over Salvatore and Mighty Stowaway in an open-looking race.
