Cazoo Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 19:12 | Winning time: 6m 6.52s

Kings Creek^p,t¹³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Caoilin Quinn⁽⁷⁾| T: M Walford| OR: 94

12/1

Best recent effort when second from this mark at Sedgefield last month. Offered enough to suggest he's still in decent heart when fifth of 12 at Newcastle since.

Form: 473525

Kilganer Queen^t¹⁵

Age: 12| Weight: 11-7| J: Lee Edwards| T: A West| OR: 94| D

9/1

Multiple winner in Ireland and scored for this yard at Sedgefield last April. Back in form in recent starts and ought to be competitive here.

Form: V4P432

Bardd²²

Age: 10| Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Bannister| T: Mrs D O'Neill| OR: 87

3/1

Unreliable type. Bumper/Flat winner but he's yet to win over jumps after 34 attempts. Latest Warwick third creditable but others are preferred for win purposes again.

Form: 2246P3

Ange Endormi^b¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Kielan Woods| T: B Pauling| OR: 84| BF

4/1

Improved efforts over hurdles since blinkered, finishing placed in a pair of 20.5f handicaps here. Likely to figure prominently if as effective over this longer trip.

Form: 4-47823

Taras Day^p,t⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-11| J: Lewis Dobb⁽⁷⁾| T: L Morgan| OR: 84| CD

25/1

Made light of a 15-month absence to double career tally in handicap hurdle at Perth (3m) at this time last year, but she's been well below in 3 outings since. Could only consider if backed.

Form: 42/1-088

Goast Dancer¹⁰⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Ryan Mania| T: A M Thomson| OR: 84

18/1

No impact in 3 qualifying runs over 2m but he is obviously unexposed now handicapping over a much longer trip. Worth a betting check having come down from Scotland.

Form: 06-088

Sir Jim⁴⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 10-8| J: Callum Bewley| T: Ruth Jefferson| OR: 81

16/1

Well held in 2 bumpers/3 novice hurdles but handicaps provide him with a much more realistic chance. Keep an eye out for market support.

Form: 86-588

Ratoute Yutty^t²⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-5| J: Lewis Stones⁽⁵⁾| T: C Fryer| OR: 78

6/1

Finally snapped a long losing when seeing off 8 rivals at Huntingdon (25f) last month. Not the most consistent but she retains handicapping scope after a 5 lb rise.

Form: 025641

Gemini Fire⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-5| J: Thomas Willmott⁽³⁾| T: H Hogarth| OR: 78

66/1

Placed on the first of 2 starts in points but has yet to show much under Rules, including always behind on handicap debut last month.

Form: 2F-78P0

Matchmaking¹⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 10-1| J: J M Quinlan| T: Mrs Caroline Bailey| OR: 74

7/2

One-time fairly useful Flat winner. Nowhere near that level over hurdles since returning from a long absnece but his 20.5f course handicap debut fourth does at least give him something to build on.

Form: P084

Forecasts

Bardd (3/1), Matchmaking (7/2), Ange Endormi (4/1), Lake Shore Drive (5/1), Freethinker (5/1), Ratoute Yutty (6/1), King Ferdinand (6/1), Kilganer Queen (9/1), Kings Creek (12/1), Gumbo Flyer (12/1), Torngat (14/1), Sir Jim (16/1), Goast Dancer (18/1), Taras Day (25/1), Cheer's Delboy (25/1), Gemini Fire (66/1)

If LAKE SHORE DRIVE is in the same form as when scoring in this headgear at Exeter last week then he may up to defying a penalty for the Richard Hawker team. The hat-trick seeking Freethinker rates an obvious danger. King Ferdinand and Ange Endormi are others who arrive in good form and also make the shortlist.
