Three-time winner over fences for Gabriel Leenders in France. Very low-key start for new yard but eased in weights and revived sufficiently to see of stablemate at Wincanton (20f) last week. Possibilities with a repeat under a penalty.

9/2
Bumper/hurdles winner but those victories came back in 2019 and recent exploits over fences have been disappointing, folding entering the straight when third at Stratford (17f) in March. Mark has eased further at least.

Hurdles winner who ran best race over fences when second at Catterick (15.6f) in December (on back of wind op). Undone by some indifferent jumping subsequently but good showing not ruled out.

Winless since landing back-to-back 2m handicaps during early 2019 but he did take step back in right direction when third in 5-runner Leicester handicap (15.9f) last month. Can figure from 3 lb lower.

Point winner who has run to a fair level without success over hurdles (pick of efforts coming here). Not seen to best effect when midfield in 17-runner event here latest and he may well step up for switch to larger obstacles. One to note in betting.

Ended a long losing run from 6 lb out of handicap at Bangor (17.4f) in January. Has typically failed to reproduce form akin to that in 3 subsequent starts and operating from 9 lb out of weights.

Forecasts

Red Happy (9/4), Across The Channel (3/1), Fulgurix (4/1), Son Of Camas (9/2), Full Of Surprises (11/2), Boagrius (6/1), Royal Act (14/1)

Verdict

BOAGRIUS's losing run tempers enthusiasm, yet he signalled a return to form when third at Leicester last month and, having run well from a much higher mark at Bangor early on this term, he gets the tentative nod to put it all together in an open-looing affair. Wincanton-scorer Red Happy and Full of Surprises head up the dangers, whilst market support for Across The Channel on chase debut would look significant.
