Third hurdle success when winning a small-field Kempton listed novice in October. Well held after 4 months off in Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso last time but could get back on track now returned to calmer waters.

Wild Max^t²³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 130| D

16/5

Looked much more comfortable back over hurdles when fourth at Musselburgh in February. Turned in another good effort at Newbury subsequently and could be ready to strike having eased further in the weights.

Form: FP-0P43

Mengli Khan^p⁴⁶

Age: 9| Weight: 11-9| J: James Bowen| T: N J Henderson| OR: 128| D

5/2

One-time classy sort in Ireland and produced comfortably his best effort for his current yard when runner-up at Kempton in January. Below that level at Huntingdon since, though perhaps did go off a bit hard.

Form: 20-P923

Midnights Legacy⁸⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR: 117| BF| D

7/4

Useful on Flat and landed a novice hurdle at Plumpton back in the autumn. Ran poorly on most recent Flat outing but opening mark in this sphere could underestimate him.

Form: 37-12

Forecasts

Midnights Legacy (7/4), Mengli Khan (5/2), Wild Max (16/5), Balko Saint (9/2)

WILD MAX has dropped to a handy mark on his peak form and could be ready to strike following two solid efforts. The main danger may prove to be Midnights Legacy, who starts life in handicaps hurdles from an appealing mark judged on his Flat form.
