Smart chaser who hasn't scored for a while but stepped up on return when second in veterans' handicap at Haydock. Ran no sort of race at Sandown but quickly back on track when third at Exeter. Eased 5 lb and weighted to play a big part.

Welsh National winner in 2018. Proved he retains a useful level of ability when third at Taunton in January but pulled up both starts since, though did face tough ask in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham last time.

Has long since boasted a fine record first time up and enhanced that when scoring at Sandown in November following another wind op. Not in same form at that course in January and others preferred.

Arguably fortunate when opening account over fences in Fakenham handicap on return. In-and-out form since, pulled up either side of winning at Ludlow in December. Could bounce back following a wind op.

Remained capable of useful form last season but hasn't shaped with much encouragement in 3 starts this term. First time cheekpieces need to have a positive effect.

Verdict

SOME CHAOS has performed well on both starts in veteran company this season, winning at Chepstow on return and finishing runner-up at Carlisle last week. In between those efforts the 11-y-o found listed handicaps too much but he can build on his latest run to get back to winning ways. Aso has been a grand servant for Venetia Williams and can go well again following his Exeter third, while Minella Encore could bounce back after a wind op.
